Jacob Marley, the Ghost of Christmas Past, the Ghost of Christmas Present, and the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come appear in “A Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickens. All four individuals visit Ebenezer Scrooge within a few hours.
Jacob Marley is Scrooge’s deceased business partner, who was also miserly in life. On Christmas Eve, Scrooge is visited by the spirit of Ebenezer Scrooge, who informs him of three visitors he will soon meet.
The second ghost to arrive is the Ghost of Christmas Past, who visits Scrooge to remind him of his youth. The Ghost of Christmas Present then appears to show him how the holiday season is celebrated in the houses of people with whom he is now linked. Scrooge learns from him that Tiny Tim will die soon if his family’s circumstances do not improve. The Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come reveals Scrooge’s grave to him.
