Yellow is a primary colour, which means that it can’t be made by mixing two other colours. But in subtractive colouring, red and green can be mixed to make yellow.

Additive colouring, which is used on computer and TV screens, uses red, green, and blue as its primary colours. Small dots of these three colours are shown on screens. Some colours light up to make other colours, like when red and green light up to make yellow. When all three lights are on at the same time, white is what you see.
