LP albums usually have covers that are 12 inches by 12 inches. Due to the size of the format, 7-inch covers are often used for singles. Most 10 inch covers were sold with 78 rpm records, but that isn’t the case any more.
How much music can be put on a vinyl record depends on how big it is. Once, each side of a 12-inch record could only hold about six minutes of music. Now, thanks to technological advances, each side can hold about 30 minutes of music. Vinyl records with a weight of 180 to 220 grammes are preferred by audiophiles because the sound quality is better.
