As a result of O’Reilly’s physically abusive treatment of Maureen McPhilmy, the marriage likely ended. According to O’Reilly’s daughter, he pulled McPhilmy down a flight of stairs by her neck. O’Reilly has apparently continued to harass his ex-wife following their divorce, including attempting to have her excommunicated from the Catholic Church for remarriage.
Before his marriage ended, he was also charged with criminal harassment of a former Fox producer.
