Since his nomination for Dreamgirls, Eddie Murphy has not received any additional Oscar recognition. He continues to work steadily in movies, returning to family comedies like Daddy Day Care as well as dramatic roles in films like Mr. Church. Murphy also recently reprised his role as Prince Akeem in Coming 2 America, the sequel to one of his most iconic films.
As one of the most prominent African-American comedians and actors ever, many feel Eddie Murphy is overdue to finally take home Oscar gold.
