But that's probably the side-eye the de facto leader of the free world gave President Donald Trump after he reportedly handed her an invoice "for billions of dollars that the White House believes it owes NATO."

A German minister called the invoice "outrageous."
“The concept behind putting out such demands is to intimidate the other side, but the chancellor took it calmly and will not respond to such provocations,” the minister said.
Although no one confirmed how much the total bill was for, NATO countries pledged in 2014 to spend two per cent of their GDP on defense. (Only a handful of nations currently do so.)
Reportedly, Trump instructed his aides to backdate the bill, too.
