A press release for the experience warns:

The fare at this pop-up experience is neither locally grown nor sustainably sourced. Guests can sip their coffee while seated at bistro-style tables, nicely draped with red and white gingham tablecloths... all while being surrounded by live rats. Tickets cost $49.99 per person and includes coffee, tea or water and a breakfast pastry. Breakfast will be followed by 15 minutes of interacting with the furry residents, as well as admission to The San Francisco Dungeon.

Attendees will also get to travel through the San Francisco Dungeon, which features:

a suspense-filled descent in a rickety mine-shaft elevator to a realm where theatrical actors, captivating storytelling, special effects and spectacular stages offer up a dark, atmospheric—and often hilarious—interpretation of the city’s deepest, darkest historical moments.

It's perfect for those of you who like to begin your day with a bit of suspense!

This isn't the first time a rat cafe has popped up in the public consciousness. Back in 2014, Bon Appetit published an article about a Brooklyn rat cafe, but the story was just an April Fools’ joke.

You can buy tickets here for the rat cafe experience, which will be available on July 1st and 8th at 9:00 AM. Be sure to reserve yourself a seat if you're anywhere around San Francisco, or if you're passionate enough about rodents to make a road trip to the dungeon. See you there!
