Early morning commuters heading eastbound on Interstate 80 caught an early edition of fake news on Thursday. A road sign near the Woodland exit near UC Davis read: "Trump Has Herpes."

The roadside public service announcement was praised by rubbernecking drivers.

And a new metaphor is born.

A Caltrans spokesperson confirmed that the sign was one of theirs meant for the Pioneer Bridge Construction Project. The sign is protected by a password, and investigators are looking into how it was hacked.

Roadside sign hacks are nothing new. In July, a Caltrans sign in Napa read, "Caution, Asian Drivers," while another sign in Dixon last May informed drivers, “Free Hookers Ahead.”

So far, the approval ratings on this sign seems a lot higher than Trump's.
