Here in America, if you want to spend less on a place to spend the night, you can use AirBNB or stay at a hostel. In Tokyo, Japan, you have another alternative: a capsule hotel.

A capsule hotel is far more affordable than traditional hotels in Tokyo. They also tend to pop up in very convenient locations.

However, given their low cost, something's gotta give. In this case, it's the space that you get for your money.

Capsule hotels give you a small bed box with a TV and a light and a mattress. And that's it!

Well, that's not all you get. You also get a pair of slippers (no shoes are allowed inside). You also get a locker for your things, since they won't be able to fit in your bed capsule.

You also may get some added amenities like a foot bath or a common room or otherwise.
