Alligator Rings Neighbors' Doorbell

Alligator Rings Neighbors' Doorbell

COMMENTS

Apparently, solicitors aren't the only things you don't want ringing your doorbell in South Carolina.

"I thought it was a joke," Jamie Bailey of Moncks Corner, South Carolina, says about the call she received at work. "I mean, who would have thought? An alligator!" You read that right: While Bailey was at work, an alligator came to her door. But the reptile didn't try to break into the house. Gary Rogers, who lives in the neighborhood, took a video as he was walking his dog. The footage shows the alligator was trying to ring the doorbell. Alligator "The gator was not aggressive at all," Rogers told WCIV, an ABC affiliate. Apparently, the gator "looked like he was really trying to make an attempt to get over the fence and into this woman's pool in the backyard" but then "it went over to the house...up around the doorbell." At least it's good to know that gators in South Carolina have the same kind of southern hospitality and charm that their human neighbors have. Watch coverage here:   alligator
