Senior Skip Day is not a recognised holiday in the United States. However, a lot of graduating seniors do take the day off or skip class. Although senior skip day is not formally recognised by the majority of schools, administrators are aware that it is observed every spring.
As long as school administrators are on board with the custom, a senior skip day can be a good time. Some school districts forbid seniors from skipping, especially if the day falls right after a significant senior event like the prom. If seniors engage in activities that disrupt testing during skip events, they may not be allowed to graduate in some school districts.
Before picking a day or taking part in a senior skip day activity, high school seniors should research the policies of their respective school district. If the day is not acknowledged by the administrators, a field trip or a senior day off may be substituted.
In addition to senior skip day, additional senior customs include senior pictures and prom. Seniors and juniors may attend the same prom, however some schools host separate proms for the two grades.
