From 2001 until 2004, LS Studio, also known as Ukrainian Angels Studio, produced a number of photographic collections of young females, including LS Land Magazine. Before Ukrainian police seized and shut down LS Studio, it was the most popular child pornography website in the world.

Other LS Studio collections included LS Island, LS Dreams, LS Stars, LS Barbie, and LS Fantasy, in addition to LS Land. The studio recruited young women between the ages of 8 and 16 through television and newspaper advertisements. By acting as a reputable modelling agency and operating mostly in Kharkov, Kiev, and Simferopol, the studio fooled the parents of the youngsters. Photographers then captured images of the children in custom-tailored attire, in their underwear, and striking postures. There were approximately 1,500 minors involved.

After conducting a joint investigation with Interpol, the Ukrainian Interior Ministry’s Department of Criminal Investigations executed the raid in July 2004. The police seized computers, video equipment, photographs of youngsters, and bank records. The agency’s frozen bank accounts amounted to hundreds of thousands of dollars. According to a 2005 assessment by the U.S. Department of State, a major share of child pornography on the Internet originated in Ukraine.
