Victims of bullying often suffer in silence. They may try to speak up, but many times they may find that no one is there to hear them.Or, conversely, they may fear that they could find themselves in danger if they were to speak up. I can sympathize with the victims of bullying who speak out under the veil of anonymity within this post. I was a victim of bullying for much of my younger years. In elementary school, I suffered verbal and physical bullying due to my being overweight. I was the fat kid. That's as easy as a target can be when you're on the playground. Then, when I got to junior high school, I discovered that I was gay. The fact that I lost weight didn't help much because the bullies had something new to make fun of me about. I am an adult now. I am no longer massively overweight. I live in a city where being gay is (mostly) okay. I made it out of my earlier years alive if not a little bit guarded. Victims of bullying often feel that they cannot speak up about what happens to them. They see themselves as weak, or deserving of the treatment that they receive. Often, this can lead to suicide, intense psychological damage, or any other number of terrible events. I am glad that apps like Whisper exist. And I'm pleased that we have these anonymous confessions of those who made it.
It does get better, after all.
A fantastic conclusion to come to. I'll bet it drove those bullies crazy.
Hear hear. The bully is in your head now. No one can say anything worse than that voice.
Mine led me to become a writer. Thanks to bullies, we have a ton of great artists.
Victims that learn how to overcome and change for the better from their bullies are the ones who win in the end.
Hopefully, the bully has come around by now, too.
Show 'em what you've got!
Funny how that works out, isn't it?
I hope you pointed it out. Be careful who you're mean to in high school.
Time passes. People grow and change. Bullies? Not always.
This one made me so happy.
Whatever doesn't grind you down polishes you up!
A true triple threat.
Now you can buy 'em and sell 'em!
Looks like you taught those beasts a lesson.
Kids don't know anything.
