#ThankYouObama Hashtag Fills Twitter With Thousands Of Touching Messages

COMMENTS

As we prepare for the coming inauguration of President-Elect Trump, many got emotional. Barack Obama, our nation's first African American president has less than two months left in office.

This past week, a show on BET called Love & Happiness: An Obama Celebration asked its viewers to share their happiness and gratitude to Barack Obama and his family using the hashtag #ThankYouObama. Thousands and thousands across Twitter did as they were told, and filled social media with beautiful and memorable messages. Unlike the humorous "Thanks Obama" line, #ThankYouObama is a touching and meaningful gesture of appreciation to our soon to be former President.

From all of us here at The Daily Buzz, #ThankYouObama. You'll truly be missed.

It should be noted that these are positive tweets that I have selected from the hashtag #ThankYouObama. As one might expect, bitter, jaded, GOP/conservative trolls can't leave well enough alone and have flooded the hashtag with their unique brand of anger and hate speech and anti-fact. You'd think their President lost the election or something! Cheer up, GOP folks! You won the presidency! You've got both houses of congress! Now you can stop being angry and screaming all the time. We liberals get to do that now for the next four or eight years! Play fair.
