Trump was back to attacking the media this weekend.

During his speech at a D.C. Independence Day rally at the Kennedy Center that was billed as an address to veterans and Christians, Trump couldn't help but throw in some jabs.

"My administration is transferring power outside of Washington and returning it to where it belongs: the people," he told the crowd. "The fake media is trying to silence us but we will not let them. The people know the truth. The fake media tried to stop us from going to the White House, but I'm president and they're not."

The digs didn't stop there.

Trump told the crowd that the media only have themselves to blame for the current state of turmoil.

"The fact is, the press destroyed themselves because they went too far," he stated. "Instead of being subtle and smart, they used the hatchet and the people saw it right from the beginning."

He added: "The dishonest media will not stop us from accomplishing our objectives on behalf of the American people."
