This Controversial Political Cartoon Has Split The Internet In Half

COMMENTS

To usher in the new year, cartoonist Will McPhail tweeted his first ever political cartoon. He did so with the added comment "One from this week's New Yorker. Hello politics, my names Will.

The comic seemed to have a simple enough message, at least as far as my thinking goes. A passenger has stood up on the plane and said that he should be given control over the pilots, who are trained and able to fly the vehicle the passengers are currently on.

However, much to the pilots' future chagrin, they are out-voted by the passengers on the plane, who, too, want this random person to fly the plane.

And there you have it: a very simple political cartoon. Or, not. Because this is the internet, and so everyone must disagree about everything, and we all get our chance to say what we feel. Well, the internet is saying what it feels about this cartoon, and fighting about it as it goes. Here are some of the warring tweets over this cartoon.
