There's A Fake "Time Magazine" Cover Of Donald Trump Hanging At His Golf Courses, And Twitter Is Screaming

Donald Trump loves to peddle the notion of "fake news" to his avid fan base.

But in a bit of irony, reports have surfaced of literal "fake news," brought to you by Trump himself.

A fake cover of Time magazine featuring Trump has reportedly been spotted in at least five of his golf courses.

The cover sports a headline in all caps reading, "TRUMP IS HITTING ON ALL FRONTS...EVEN TV!"

But wait. It gets even weirder.

The issue, dated March 1, 2009, (which is not a date the magazine was published on) even borrows some of its decidedly-liberal headlines from a March 2, 2009, issue of Time featuring actress Kate Winslet on the cover, as The Washington Post uncovered.

There are some other telling mistakes that distinguish the fake cover from a real one. The red border is much skinnier than it should be, secondary headlines are stacked along the right side instead of the top, and Time would never use exclamation points.

A spokesperson for Time Inc. told the Washington Post that the cover is indeed a fake, and by 5 PM Tuesday, they had asked the Trump Organization to take down the pictures.
