The National Park Service just got a few thousand dollars richer, thanks to Donald Trump.
Well, $78,333.32 richer, that is. In keeping with a promise he made to forgo his presidential salary, Trump had White House press secretary Sean Spicer hand an oversized check to Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke during Monday's press briefing. The amount was equal to what Trump has made between Inauguration Day and March 31st, his first quarter in office.
While Zinke claimed to be "thrilled" at the gesture, this picture speaks for itself:
The money will be used to help maintain the nation's 25 battlefields, a project which amounts to about $229 million, according to Zinke.
Only $228,921,667 to go!
