During the month of December, the U.S. Consumer Confidence Index rose to 113.7, the highest it’s been since 2001. Why? Well, according to one report, it's because many Americans appear confident that Donald Trump, the president-elect, will deliver on his campaign promises.
He seems to think so, too. He even thanked himself, in trademark Donald fashion.
The U.S. Consumer Confidence Index for December surged nearly four points to 113.7, THE HIGHEST LEVEL IN MORE THAN 15 YEARS! Thanks Donald!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) December 28, 2016
The president-elect referring to himself in the third person? Sounds just a tad narcissistic, doesn't it?
The hashtag #ThanksDonald began trending in response. People had a lot to say.
