It's been exactly one year almost to the day since the vulgar and explicit 'Access Hollywood' tape of President Donald Trump discussing, with pride, his panache for sexually assaulting women. And women want him to know that just because he "won" the election, they haven't forgotten.
This past Friday the women's advocacy group UltraViolet played the instantly infamous tape on repeat, right outside of the ex-reality star's lair.
The group set up a large screen in Washington, D.C. in between the White House and the National Mall and ran the their all day long, on constant loop and live streamed from their Facebook page.
The screening began at 9 a.m. Friday morning, and ended at 9 p.m. And their turnout was in fact, HUGE!
Borrowing from the now, worldwide movement, UltraViolet posted about their event on social media using the hashtag #WeGrabBack, and held the rally outside the White House to reassure '45 that they will continue to "grab back."
This revival of sorts made a loud statement.
Dear Mr. President you may want to look outside your window before you leave the house, or perhaps you should play your 'heartfelt apology' on loop. Maybe people misunderstood and this time they'll see your sincerity.
UltraViolet expressed dissatisfaction with the president's policies regarding women, a statement echoed by MANY Americans.
UltraViolet co-founder Shaunna Thomas said Friday in a statement, according to The Hill, "The Donald Trump on that tape is the same Donald Trump that sits in the Oval Office every day, aggressively pursuing an anti-women agenda, including the active dismantling of legal protections for survivors of sexual assault"
She followed up with, "A lot has happened in a year, but the women of the United States have certainly not forgotten the vulgar and sexually aggressive words that the president spewed while trying to distract from the issues we are facing today."
Silence is all that has been heard from the White House on the event so far. What has further exacerbated the situation is the President plans to roll back Obama era birth control coverage as part of the ACA.
Oh Mr. Trump. Soon these ladies will be camping outside your digs. I would do someone rethinking if I were you.
