Young Photographer Shows How Far He'll Go For Great Shot

27-year-old Justin Hardiman from Mississippi is a freelance photographer who's looking to make it his full-time job. In pursuit of the perfect shot, Hardiman knows a great photographer often has to put him or herself in uncomfortable, even dangerous positions.

During a recent shoot in and around Vicksburg, Mississippi, Hardiman and his small team drove around all day looking for the perfect location, but kept coming up short. Hardiman tells the story:

I was looking for white buildings and columns, but we couldn't find anything. Originally we were supposed to shoot at this Civil War museum, but it was closed.

The team then happened upon a small hill covered in vines. Hardiman asked his model to stand among them while he jumped over a ditch and scaled a nearby abandoned building, cutting his arms and legs in the process. The young photographer said:

Anybody can just take pictures of a person standing in a cool way or with cool clothes on, but sometimes you have to go the length.
