Her husband, Alabama Governor Robert Bentley, resigned on Monday, rather than face impeachment for using state resources to cover up his affair with his adviser, Rebekah Caldwell Mason.
The drama, worthy of a Shonda Rhimes show, began when Dianne noticed her husband frequently texting his advisor during off hours about non-gubernatorial business.
The amorous exchanges became glaringly evident when she caught her husband texting Mason, "I can’t take my eyes off of you," during a National Governor’s Association event in Washington, D.C., back in February 2014.
In another snafu, Robert's attempts at being covert failed miserably when he inadvertently texted his wife, saying, "I love you Rebekah."
That text was egregiously followed up with a name correction and a rose emoji after it. Big fail.
