Teen Drama Has Drawn The Ire Of Some Specialists
Should teenagers be protected from mature content, such as sexual assault, harassment, and suicide? If no, then perhaps Netflix's new series, 13 Reason Why, shouldn't be marketed at teenagers, because each of those is included over the thirteen episode tale.
The show centers around a high student named Hannah, and the thirteen reasons she decided to end her life. Each reason is listed out in pain-staking detail on various cassette tapes and distributed to various classmates at her high school.
Part of the reason for the show's controversy is the very essence of the tale. Hannah's path to taking her own life is grounded in reality, and some mental health groups have been having issues with it.
