McCain Burns Trump In Response To President's Complaints Of Unfair Treatment

In a commencement speech to graduates of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy this past Wednesday, May 17th, President Trump inspired the hundreds gathered by saying:

Look at the way I’ve been treated lately, especially by the media. No politician in history — and I say this with great surety — has been treated worse or more unfairly.

Senator John McCain, during an interview with MSNBC's Morning Joe, didn't quite agree.



McCain pulled no punches, telling the hosts:

Well, first of all, I’ve been worse treated than President Trump has, let’s make sure that we know about that.



McCain was referring to his five-year ordeal as a prisoner of war. During his campaign, Trump memorably mocked McCain's service, saying:

I like people who weren’t captured.
