In Jersey, Taylor pork is all the rage! And in order to keep the peace Governor Christie may need to step in and put a kibosh on the debate once and for all.
Police were called to an apartment in Hackettstown, New Jersey, this past weekend after an altercation broke out over a pilfered breakfast meal known as either a Taylor Ham Sandwich or Taylor Pork Roll.
Christian Guerra, 19 was taken into custody around 3:00 a.m. Saturday after repeatedly punching another man in the face causing significant swelling and bruising. It is believed that one of these men swiped the other's sandwich and possibly some beer.
This isn't the first time things have gotten heated over this product. In New Jersey Taylor Ham and it's breakfast rolls are a bit of a delicacy.
A tumultuous public battle has been ongoing since anyone can remember. Residents of North Jersey call the popular breakfast item a Taylor ham but down South it's simply called pork rolls.
Ham is no joke for Jersey folk. As you can see, some residents of the Garden State take this "disagreement" very, very personally.
if you're from new jersey and call taylor ham pork roll you should've been aborted— boo (@samromano_) September 10, 2017

It's actually New Jersey law that you are allowed one throat punch for anyone messing with your Taylor ham.— Brian Tulloch (@2lockSports) October 3, 2017
It has gotten so contentious in 2016 that Gov. Chris Christie claimed to be considering issuing an executive order making 'Taylor ham' the sandwich's official name.

North Jersey: It's Taylor ham, not pork roll.
South Jersey: Oh yeah? Remind me, how many Wawa's do you have again?
