Kim Kardashian doesn't play games when it comes to Halloween. Her "theme" for this year's festivties was, ICONS. So she had a myriad of costumes at the ready to portray the artists she felt were Legend.
A myriad of looks? Remember when Halloween used to be easy?
Kim chose several musical ICONS and slayed as Cher, Madonna, Selena and Aaliyah.
All brilliant but Twitter had a bit of an issue with the Aaliyah vibe.
This is offensive— Kelly (@vnyvsh) October 29, 2017
Seems intense for some homage and a little fun. Kim wasted no time with a response which she posted to her site.
"I saw online that some people were offended by my Aaliyah costume and I am sorry if that offended anyone, but I wasn't dressing up as a race or culture but rather as a woman I admire and think is amazing, so I don't agree honestly."
Stand firm girl! Aaliyah would.
Most of social media came to Kim's defense and tried to quell unnecessary controversy.
okay i’m gonna go off cause i think this is stupid, and y’all can tear me apart if you feel that i’m wrong, but what exactly is wrong with kim kardashian dressing as Aaliyah for halloween?— Jonathan Ivan (@jonathanivan) October 31, 2017
trying to find a legitimate reason as to why people are angry over kim kardashian’s aaliyah costume??— vee (@vee_xvi) November 4, 2017
Kim Kardashian didn’t owe y’all ashy ass an apology for wearing that Aaliyah costume! That’s what you do on HALLOWEEN dummies.— Myleeza (@MyleezaKardash) November 3, 2017
