Here's the story: in Israel, a couple was negotiating with a landlord about the possibility of renting a property. After talking, the landlord walked away with the impression that the couple wanted to move forward with the deal, so he took his property off the market. Then the couple totally ghosted him. He sued them in small claims court, claiming they cost him the opportunity to rent the apartment to someone else by leading him to believe they wanted it. The judge ruled in favor of the landlord based on a string of emojis the couple sent the landlord in a text exchange!
