After writing Harry Potter, one of the most successful series of all time, J.K. Rowling just does whatever she wants now. She writes under a pseudonym. She works on movies. She hangs out around the house. She writes a secret "political fairy tale" for young people, which she's not sure she'll ever have published.
Well, that's just great, J.K.! Why can't your millions of fans around the globe read what is surely a beautiful, humanist tale which teaches us a lesson about the nature of the world? Well, at least partly because it's written on a dress.
Rowling explained to CNN:
The theme of my 50th birthday, which I held at Halloween even though that's not really my birthday, was come as your own private nightmare. And I went as a lost manuscript.
