During a St. Patrick’s Day speech to about 700 people on Friday night in Pennsylvania, Hillary Clinton indicated she would be re-entering the spotlight.
“I’m like a lot of my friends right now. I have a hard time watching the news, I’ll confess,” she said, referring to the litany of scandals which have come to define the first two months of the Trump administration.
“I am ready to come out of the woods and to help shine a light on what is already happening around kitchen tables, at dinners like this.”
According to Mary Clare Kingsley, a president of the Society of Irish Women, which held the event, Clinton's appearance broke attendance records, surpassing the number of attendees when the group hosted Barack Obama during his 2008 presidential campaign.
“We figured if anyone could motivate women, who better to have there than her,” Kingsley said.
