Harvard University is making a pretty big change on campus. A committee made up of faculty, staff members, and students, confronted with high rates of sexual misconduct associated with single-gendered organizations, has recommended to the university that all fraternities, sororities, and exclusive clubs be phased out over the next five years.

This includes the 6 remaining all-male "final clubs," named as such because they are the last clubs male students join before graduating.

Harvard is taking this very seriously. The university is set to implement new club restrictions for the incoming class of 2021: Students joining single-gender clubs will not be eligible for leadership positions or a dean's letter of recommendation for fellowships, such as the Rhodes Scholarship and Marshall Scholarship.
