Texas police are searching for 3-year-old Sherin Mathews, who disappeared after being sent outside alone as punishment for not drinking her milk. Her adoptive father was arrested for child endangerment, and she is thought to be in great peril.
The police department has said that Sherin was last seen by her father around 3 a.m., outside the family's backyard in the 900 block of Sunningdale.
They also stated that the little girl has developmental issues and limited verbal communication skills. Currently she still remains missing and the family has yet to be cleared of suspicion.
Twitter joined the search almost immediately.
The child's father is in the forefront of the investigation.
Wesley Mathews maintains his innocence and has joined the family in pleading for the child's safe return.
Mathews and his wife adopted Sherin two years from an orphanage in India. Police reported the girl was extremely malnourished when the family took her in so it wasn't uncommon for her to stay up late to eat to try and increase her weight.
Mathews said when he went to check on Sherin around 3:15 a.m. she was gone.
He didn't report her disappearance until five hours later.
Nothing is certain except that Sherin must be found.
The police believe that she is in immediate danger. Anyone w/ info please contact the Richardson Police Department at 972-744-4801.— no (@ineedanatlas) October 7, 2017
