The massively popular HBO series Game Of Thrones is fast approaching its end. Perhaps quicker than many first anticipated.
Showrunners Dan Weiss and David Benioff opened up about Game of Thrones this past weekend at the popular South By Southwest (SXSW) festival. In their discussion, they dropped two bombshell announcements that rocked the series' fan base and pop music fans around the world.
The seventh season is fast approaching. This season will be eight episodes, instead of the standard and expected ten. Many fans were upset about this.
Imagine how upset they will be to discover that the eighth and final season will be only six total episodes in length.
That's right. There are only fourteen episodes of Game of Thrones left. Enjoy them while you can.
We’ve had, from the beginning, a sense of… from the very first time we pitched this show to HBO, we wanted to tell one 70 hour movie – it’s gonna turn out to be 73 hours, but still, it’s stayed relatively the same in terms of the beginning, the middle and now we’re coming to the end.
It would’ve been tough if we’d lost any of the core cast members along the way, so I’m very happy that we’ve kept everyone together and we get to finish it the way we wanted to.
