Fox News' Tucker Carlson Turns On Paul Ryan

“We’re 47 days into the Trump administration and really nothing’s gone through the Congress," Tucker Carlson told Speaker Paul Ryan.

At this point, during the Obama administration eight years ago, they passed all kinds of stuff,” he continued.

Ryan disagreed, but failed to provide specific examples of what Congress has actually passed during the last seven weeks when pressed by the unmoved by the Fox News pundit. (Ryan did cite the Congressional Review Act, which allows Congress to roll back Obamacare, and other technicalities, but Carlson wasn't having any of it.)

Carlson also wasn't happy about Congress's work schedule for the month of April. Republicans, he stressed, should concern themselves with making Trump's proposals into a reality––and how can they do that when members of Congress will be on the clock for only eight days next month?

“With respect, I don’t understand this," Carlson said. "This is the 115th Congress. I think you’ve been in session for less than half of that time. So in April, we checked… The House is in session for eight days in April. There’s a lot to do.

"Nothing meaningful has really been… I mean you could say, ‘I went to a bill signing about coal,’ but there’s a lot of stuff that hasn’t been done that he promised, but it hasn’t made its way through Congress. Not all your fault, obviously, but eight days is not a lot of time to be working in an entire month. Why?”

Ryan assured Carlson the stat is wrong. It's not. Check out this House Calendar, for starters: Congress will only be working from April 3 through April 6 and then from April 25 through April 28.
