The benchmarks of every great artist arrives when they challenge their creative norm by taking risk with new ideas.
Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran took a gamble for Tay-Tay's new album, the massively successful "Reputation." In the song 'End Game' featuring Grammy nominated rapper Future, Sheeren pulls a full-on Kanye and throws out a rap, and the gamble... didn't really pay off.
Observe. (Ed begins around 1:35)
Yeah that was pretty much the consensus.
Now Taylor and Ed have been friends for a long while and have already collaborated once back in 2012 for Swift's album "Red." THAT project went over much better.
Twitter had a bit of a field day with the reviews for 'End Game.'
Ed Sheeran is somehow worse at rapping than Taylor Swift is. This EndGame song has a great chorus and Future rap, though. Basically everything except the intro and the Sheeran rap are A+— Lorenzo Quiogue (@lorenzo_quiogue) November 10, 2017
feel betrayed that taylor would trick me into listening to ed sheeran rap— cousins dangereux (@lgnwc) November 10, 2017
ed sheeran raps on the new taylor swift album and if that isnt definitive proof that we live in the darkest timeline i dont know what is— lowri (@lowrimegan) November 10, 2017
Definitely NOT a 5 star review. More like a 2, maybe.
Ed Sheeran rapping on a Taylor Swift song, Trump is president, and everyone in Hollywood is a rapist. It's about time God end the world and start over.— Black Elle Woods (@evelynvwoodsen) November 10, 2017
taylor swift’s new song with ed sheeran and future is such a goddamn mess— sam (@samantharuizg) November 11, 2017
Here are 5 reasons why that Taylor Swift, Future & Ed Sheeran collab was a good idea:— Sean Matsukawa (@SeanMatsukawa) November 12, 2017
Let’s talk about how I’ve wanted another Taylor Swift/Ed Sheeran collab since like 2013 but this one is the worst song on the album lolol.— Kellan Monroe (@KellanM81) November 10, 2017
