Ivanka Trump can't stand Steve Bannon.
Those are the reports coming out of the White House, and many of President Donald Trump's associates who've spoken to reporters on condition of anonymity, say that Ivanka, who currently serves as a special assistant to her father, has good reason to want Bannon, the president's chief strategist, away from him.
Bannon, who has seen his influence in the White House wane following his removal from his role on the National Security Council, has often clashed with Jared Kushner, Ivanka Trump's husband.
In recent weeks, Kushner's responsibilities have only increased––recently touring Iraq, for example––while Bannon appears to have fallen by the wayside... and the two have found themselves vying for the president's good graces like bitter rivals.
According to a new report from Vanity Fair (you know, that magazine Trump doesn't want you to read),
With the exception of two family members — Trump’s daughter Ivanka, an unpaid assistant to the president, and her husband, Jared Kushner, a senior adviser to the president — no one on Trump’s topmost White House staff has been with the new president for very long. That presents a sharp contrast with the teams around Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. Trump’s staff is as unbridled as the president himself. His advisers came together almost by accident and by default. They exhibit loyalty to their boss in front of the camera, only to whisper about him (and about their rivals, often in vicious terms) when the camera is gone.
Bannon, the report implies, has remained distant, all the while.
