Ex-Congressman Promises Violence, Musket In Hand, If Trump Loses.

Who knew a musket is a credible threat?

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: this election is crazy. This election goes beyond the candidates. Americans across the country are challenging respected, historical traditions going back to the days of George Washington. It's one thing to have email scandals and sexual assault accusations, but it's completely different when democracy is under attack. Threats are even coming from ex-congressman Joe Walsh from Illinois.

Walsh is known for his ultra-conservative opinions on several issues. He is a member of the Tea Party and hosts a conservative radio show.

Wednesday evening, Walsh took to Twitter to talk about the upcoming election. He said:

On November 8th, I'm voting for Trump. On November 9th, if Trump loses, I'm grabbing my musket. You in?

The tweet is terrifying but some of the responses really bring the horror to life.

This is not Walsh's first Twitter outburst. He previously called for a race war when Dallas police officers got shot.

After the attack on Charlie Hebdo in Paris, France, Walsh told CNN and MSNBC reporters that they should be beheaded since they did not show the cartoons depicting the Prophet Mohammed. The icing on the cake? Walsh also has not paid child support.

Have no fear! Even when Twitter seems like a scary Halloween prank, humanity pulls through with common sense and humor!

Despite the negative response, Walsh stood by his original tweet saying:

I'm serious. I don't think a musket would do much good these days, but it's time for civil disobedience on the right.

It's in my nature to think optimistically, so just remember: you vote for your local official and representatives in November, too! Exercise your right as an American with a ballot, not a musket!
