The Daily Show with Trevor Noah correspondent Jordan Klepper is getting an upgrade on his regular gig. As was announced back in April, he'll be taking over the 11:30pm ET/PT time slot on Comedy Central previously occupied by The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore, which was canceled last August. The network has finally revealed the title and premiere date of Klepper's new show: The Opposition with Jordan Klepper!

Klepper will be taking over the 11:30 time-slot previously held by Larry Wilmore, whose show was cancelled last August. While Wilmore said he was grateful to Comedy Central for the opportunity, he didn't mince words about his regret that another diverse voice was being removed from the largely white late-night media-scape:

I’m also saddened and surprised we won’t be covering this crazy election or ‘The Unblackening’ as we’ve coined it. And, keeping it 100, I guess I hadn’t counted on ‘The Unblackening’ happening to my time slot as well.

Beginning Monday, September 25th, The Opposition with Jordan Klepper will begin following Noah’s The Daily Show on weekdays. It's possible the title was inspired by Steve Bannon's infamous quote labelling the mainstream media as "the opposition party.
