Every Halloween kids all over are warned about investigating what is in their bags before they consume anything. Most children fight about giving up any candy to their parents. But this time I think they'll be parting with one particular treat with glee. LETTUCE?!
Needless to say the idea didn't go over so well.
Everyone breathe. It turns out this was merely a Twitter Halloween prank. (Though mini salad bags couldn't hurt American obesity issues.)
When the high jinks reached Dole they spoke out.
So everyone relax.... nobody is getting salad for Halloween.
Twitter had sooooo many thoughts on the issue before they realized the prank.
So Hollaween has come down to This I guess kid's don't count? What was I thinking I thought kid's are the Future?— Rick (@RickA85876728) October 28, 2017

May I kindly request that these new Dole salads are sold in the UK too?— Katherine Birkett (@Kitty_B_Good) October 27, 2017
If someone had given me a Dole mini-salad for a treat on Halloween there would definitely have been some egging of homes ...— Andrew Welsh (@DarthWelsh74) October 27, 2017
Of course once Dole caught on and everyone else was let in on the joke social media laughed along.
This was a pretty good photoshop prank 😆 I’d be most offended by the waste of plastic for a few bits of salad— Jazzy (@1jazzytune) October 27, 2017
Dole, you just regained a customer. Classy reminder to Adam. ☺— Teresa Reed Wilcher (@DorsetQuarryGal) October 29, 2017
