It's now Day 3 of the administration of President Trump, and it's been off to a bit of a rough start. Thankfully, the Obamas have no intention of riding off into the sunset.
Barack and Michelle had barely left the White House behind when they posted a video to YouTube that has already garnered over 4.5 million views.
In the brief video, the Obamas said what many were hoping to hear: unlike President George W. Bush who left the White House with a low approval rating and a Republican party that wanted nothing but distance from him, the Obamas have no intention of going anywhere.
Barack and Michelle both have sky-high approval ratings, and now join the Democratic Party's hall of beloved Presidents. And, fortunately, they are going to use that clout and are ready to get back to work.
In the video, Barack and Michelle are smiling. They look healthy. And it's comforting to see them there. They once again gratefully thank America for giving them the chance to serve for eight years.
After that, Michelle mentions that she and Barack will be taking a brief break and a vacation. They'll be sleeping a bit. But then, she says, they are getting back to work.
The work that lays ahead of them will be known as the Obama Foundation.
According to the Obamas:
The Obama Foundation will be a living, working startup for citizenship — an ongoing project for us to shape, together, what it means to be a good citizen in the 21st century. We are based on the South Side of Chicago and will have projects all over the city, the country, and the world.
