Here's the thing about stuff that's banned in America: we may not even know that they exist!
The United States has a habit of banning certain things in the hopes of protecting its citizens from maladies and death. Let me be the first to say that I appreciate them doing me this solid! YouTube user MatthewSantoro has gone viral once again, this time with his intriguing list of 10 things that are banned from the United States of America. His first one is actually one I've heard of: Kinder Eggs, which are a chocolate egg with an encapsulated toy inside. Why is it banned? Because America doesn't want kids choking on toys while they try to eat chocolate. Makes sense, right? Well, it sorta makes less sense when Matthew goes further into detail.
Absinthe, the famous libation of the green faerie, played by Kylie Minogue in Moulin Rouge, is also on this list. After that? The list gets a little weirder. For example, did you know that elsewhere in the world, people willingly consume a cheese that has larvae in it!? Yeah. I didn't know that. And now that I possess that particular information, I'm not sure how I feel about it. Well, I know this much: I'm happy that it's banned from America! Imagine sitting next to someone on public transportation as they stuff maggot-filled cheese into their gaping maw. To see the full list, click play below!
