According to their studies, Americans spend nearly $900,000 per month on avocado toast. This is a huge increase from what the company saw in 2014, with just $17,000 worth of avocado toast per month being moved

So is Tim Gurner correct in thinking millennials are spending $19 a pop for this brunch time specialty? Based on their data, the average cost of avocado toast is $6.78, with a range of $2 being the cheapest and the most expensive served for $18. The average price was highest in Los Angeles at $8.50 a serving, and the least in D.C., at $4.

So how many equivalent servings of avocado toast would a millennial need to save to increase their house buying potential? If an average cost is $8 a pop, then you would need to save 475 servings of avocado toast to afford one month's rent in San Francisco.
